Arrival by public transport

Here you will find directions for your arrival by train.

The Laboratory for Electron Microscopy is located in the "Physik-Flachbau" (building 30.22) at Engesserstraße 7.

Please have a look at the map below and follow the directions below

 

After your arrival at Karlsruhe main station...

  • Leave the station through the main exit.
  • Take a cab (approx. 3.5 km).

or:

  • Take streetcar no. 3 in the direction of "Siemensallee".
  • Get off at the station "Kronenplatz/Universität" (6th stop).
  • Walk with the help of the map to the "Physik-Flachbau". The "Physik-Flachbau" is a three-story building directly in front of the "Physik-Hochhaus", which is the tallest building on campus.
  • Enter the "Physik-Flachbau" through the left entrance.
  • The electron microscopy laboratory is located on the 2nd floor, room no. F2-28
  • Room number F2-28 - Office

Attention: If you use a navigation system, please make sure that your route is via the main entrance "Adenauerring/Engesserstraße"! The entrance via "Neuer Zirkel" is not possible for visitors!

 

From the A5 freeway...

  • Take the exit "Karlsruhe-Durlach" and follow the direction "Karlsruhe" (not "Durlach"!)
  • Follow "Durlacher Allee" straight ahead for about 3 km. Ignore signs in the direction of "Stadtmitte/Zentrum". You will reach the intersection "Durlacher Tor" (after the second church on the right, 5 turn-off).
  • Turn right at the intersection "Durlacher Tor", direction "Universität, Neureut, Stadion".
  • Turn left at the second junction into "Engesserstraße".
  • Ask at the gate for an entry permit to visit the Laboratory for Electron Microscopy.
  • Follow the road.

 

  • Use the map to drive to the "Physik-Flachbau". The "Physik-Flachbau" is a three-story building directly in front of the "Physik-Hochhaus", which is the tallest building on campus. Parking is available on the street.
  • Enter the "Physik-Flachbau" through the left entrance.
  • The electron microscopy laboratory is located on the 2nd floor, room no. F2-28 - office.
